Film crews should be arriving any day to start filming a new reality TV show on the mean streets of Port Townsend, according to Port Townsend Film Festival director Danielle McClelland. "I was speaking with potential investors about a documentary, and suddenly we realized the solution to funding the documentary and reducing the deer population was right under our noses,” McClelland said.

“With the resurgence of programs set in rural places and the growth of heavily nostalgic programming, I know that All American Gladeerators is going to be a massive success”

The program will run local deer through an obstacle course that features rotating balance beams, swinging punching bags, and 10-point bucks with Nerf guns. Showrunner Doe Killdeer is ecstatic about both the concept and the location.

“With the resurgence of programs set in rural places and the growth of heavily nostalgic programming, I know that All American Gladeerators is going to be a massive success,” Killdeer said.

The production company that Killdeer works for has already announced a spinoff series set in Quilcene featuring off-grid bears applying for housing permits. “Sure, it’s a different sort of gamut, but it’s still watching wildlife attempting to do things that are essentially impossible for our entertainment,” Killdeer said in a press conference on Tuesday. “We’ve even got HDTV interested in that one!”
