QUILCENE, WA — On March 14th, 2026, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Quilcene area for an assault investigation. Deputies learned that 32-year-old Samantha Mardock attempted to stab her father, Kenneth Mardock, with a knife. The knife allegedly broke during the struggle.

Kenneth told responding deputies that he believed he was also struck with two different frying pans, and that his finger was broken.

Earlier that day, Port Townsend Police Officer Hammou spoke with Samantha, who was concerned that she might harm her parents. According to a statement made by Officer Hammou to Jefferson County Deputy Jon Stuart, she said "I might kill them if you don't help me" and described her mother and father as pedophiles. Kenneth later described his daughter as going through a mental health crisis.

When the deputies responded to Kenneth’s 911 call, Samantha was reportedly last seen walking down the hill and had left the scene before they arrived.

Deputies searched the area with a drone and checked other residences where she could have fled, but she was not located until the following morning. She was arrested and booked into jail for attempted murder 1st degree. Her father sustained minor injuries, which were treated.

This case is still being investigated.
