Getting Your Donation Receipt

Wondering how to get a receipt from your donation to The Beacon?

Before we can help you get, help us by answering the following questions:

  1. DATE & AMOUNT. Which date, roughly, did you make your donation, and how much was it for? This will help us pinpoint it quickly, if need be.
  2. FORMAT. Did you make a donation using a check, or through our online portal? See detailed instructions on getting receipts for each method below.

RECEIPTS FROM ONLINE PORTAL DONATIONS

If you made your donation online, you should have automatically been emailed a receipt through the donation portal. (If you forgot how to access the portal and want to manage your donations, head to the Managing Your Donation link, which is always found in The Beacon's footer navigation bar.) You can check your donation(s) by logging into the portal; it will email you a code and then you'll be able to access your donation. If you need a receipt, you must contact INN directly at (310) 800-1454 or info@inn.org.

RECEIPTS FROM CHECK DONATIONS

If you made a donation by check, did you address it to The Beacon, or did you address it to our fiscal sponsor, The Institute for Nonprofit News?

If you addressed your check to The Beacon, then whoopsie! You have you cancel your check and reissue a new one addresed to our fiscal sponsor, INN; They would issue you a receipt. Contact INN directly at (310) 800-1454 or info@inn.org.

We really do appreciate your donation and want to make it as easy as possible for you!! Until The Beacon becomes independent from our fiscal sponsor, INN is still responsible for all our donations and sending you receipts.
