Beacon Founding Editor Nhatt Nichols is leaving her position later this year. See the job description below, and please share it as widely as possible.

The executive director—or editor—of the Jefferson County Beacon is a teacher, mentor, advisor, copyeditor, rewrite person and occasional reporter. The editor reviews everything that’s published and is solely responsible for posting news releases, obituaries and letters to the editor, including formatting, photo editing and headline writing.

The editor’s support system includes a volunteer board of directors and a part-time editorial staff, part-time development director, part-time proofreader and part-time bookkeeper.
