The Rotary Club of Port Townsend believes that investing in our
local community is a cornerstone of our work. One of the ways we
do this is through our community grants program which supports
local nonprofit organizations. This year, surprisingly, we have had
very few applicants, and we are looking at various ways to
publicize this opportunity. Can the Beacon help us do that?

Last year we awarded just over $25,000 to eight local
organizations such as ECHHO, Olympic Angels, The Benji Project
and five other great programs. Grant amounts range from $500 to
$5000. Recipients must hold a 501(c)(3) designation from the
IRS.
An application form and more information is available on our
website. Application deadline is May 8.

Beacon readers, if you know of organizations that might qualify for
one of our grants, please let them know of this opportunity.
